The opening day of the RC44 Marstrand Cup saw Bronenosec Sailing Team consolidate its lead at the top of the 2105 RC44 Match Racing championship. Together with Chris Bake’s Team Aqua, Vladimir Liubomirov’s Russian team finished the day with a 6-1 score line, but this was only enough to extend her lead in the overall championship to two points over second placed Artemis Racing.

Racing took place off Marstrand on Sweden’s west coast initially under light winds and an overcast sky before the sun broke through and the wind built to 15 knots in the afternoon.

Local hosts Artemis Racing also had a stand-out day, losing their first two matches but following this up with five wins, while conversely Nico Poons’ Charisma had an unbroken run of five wins but lost its last two.
